New Proposal Application & Guidelines (pdf)

Community Recreation Branch

New Proposal Application & Guidelines for External Organizations======

Purpose

The purpose of this proposal application and guidelines package is to be used when a private or community program service provider wishes to partner with the Community Recreation Branch in delivering a service they provide. It is not to be used when a resident requests that the Community Recreation Branch start a certain type of program at a community centre.

The package will (a) assist the Community Recreation Branch in obtaining information on the external organization and their proposal, and (b) streamline the process for applicants by providing one contact that will answer questions and assist with the completion of the application form. The Community Recreation Branch will use the information that is gathered in the application form and may meet with the organization to assess how the Community Recreation Branch may be able to support the organization’s request. Instructions When an external organization approaches Recreation staff with a new proposal or idea for the Community Recreation Branch, please provide the attached application and guidelines package to the organization and ask them to send the completed application and any questions to the attention of:

Christy Parker or another PSDO will review the application to ensure that the proposal is consistent with the recommendations set out by Our Common Grounds. If the proposal is feasible, they will arrange a meeting with the organization and other appropriate staff to discuss the next steps. If the proposal is not feasible, a letter will be sent to the applicant from the Standards & Innovation section, explaining why Parks, Forestry and Recreation cannot support their request at this time.
