Personal Protective Equipment-Using Tyvek suits at wading pools

FOI Request 2012-1487 23-Oct-2012 [7317]

Commentary:

A Freedom of Information Request from Henrik Bechmann asking about the reasons for using Tyvek suits at wading pools.

The Tyvek suits are full body, fabric suits that are supposedly used for the purpose of protecting pool employees from chlorine burns when they add chemical to city wading pools. There have been questions about the effectiveness of the suits as it is clear that chlorine in liquid form does seep into the suit, especially when the wading pool attendant enters the water to add chlorine. The other concern is how hot the suits are to wear (even for short periods) on summer days.
