First Aid Kit (pdf)

Policy Statement

Parks and Recreation Division must ensure that all facilities owned, leased or operated by the Division have First Aid Kits, completely stocked, and accessible at all times. Supervisor of Recreation and Facilities will designate the responsibility of inspecting and maintaining First Aid Work Stations and Kits to those qualified to do so.

First Aid Kit

Each First Aid Kit shall be maintained as per Workplace Safety And Insurance Board (WSIB) Regulation 1101 and the Ontario Health Regulation Act to contain the following :

current edition of the St John Ambulance First Aid  Manual

  • 12 safety pins
  • 24 adhesive dressings individually wrapped
  • 12 sterile 3" square gauze pads
  • 4 rolls 2" gauze bandages;
  • 4 field dressings 4" square, or  4 sterile bandages compressors 4" square individually wrapped
  • 6 triangular bandage
  • latex Surgical Gloves;
  • 2  roll of splint padding
  • 1 roll-up splint; and
  • Pocket masks with one way valves.
Notes

Staff must take First Aid Kits (fanny packs with above supplies is acceptable) on all off-location trips.

Staff who have an allergy to latex (i.e. plastic or vinyl gloves) should notify their supervisor so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
