Dear Ana,

Some years ago, City Council voted to open 14 outdoor rinks two weeks ahead of the rest, including Dufferin Rink. PFR management has said that it's impossible because of the weather. This is a hypothesis that can be tested (note that Central Park's outdoor rink in NYC opened on October 20).

Harbourfront is opening on Nov.17 this year. The Parks director has steadfastly refused to let us try to open Dufferin Rink at the same time as Harbourfront, despite City Council's vote.

Please note that we also think that the rinks should close at the end of February, because the sun is too high and rink use plummets. So this is NOT a request for more hours in the total rink season.

Are you willing to ask the director to try opening Dufferin Rink at the mandated time (Nov.17), and if so, could you please send me his answer in writing?

Thank you

Jutta
