Sarah Boesveld, National Post ยท Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011 On the eve of his presentation to Canada's first hockey safety summit in Ottawa Wednesday, Blaine Hoshizaki, director of the Neurotrauma Impact Science Laboratory at the University of Ottawa, told the Post's Sarah Boesveld why he's calling for a total redesign of the standardized hockey helmet and for a few key rule changes.

Q What will you and your research team tell the summit?

A There's a great deal of confusion around concussions. The league and a lot of people are really trying to get their head around the fact that sometimes people are hit with what seems to be an extraordinarily hard impact and they get up and they just skate away.
