Hello Glen,
For the winter season, it doesn't make sense for the City to pay for work in cash, using donation money, I'm sure you agree. That means that four of the youth who have been working at the park need city numbers: Paige, Percy, Sophie, and Sang. They are all experienced, capable, and used to working as part of the team.

You have not been much in the habit of responding to my e-mailed questions, but this one needs a quick reply, please. As it stands, the long hiring freeze that began in 2011 means that the Dufferin Rink snack bar can only be run two days a week if the skate lending is to continue. Having the four experienced youth available to work would make the situation less of a cliff-hanger.

On November 3, CELOS will hold an all-day Open House and several one-hour public briefing sessions about the park programs -- their history and their immediate future. That's why I need to find out from you whether you intend to honour the request to hire these youth -- so that the information at the Open House is accurate. I also need to know whether you will direct your CRP to include Anna Galati and Mayssan Shuja in any other hiring that will be needed for the winter programs. Inclusion means (1) formulating questions, (2) being part of the interviews and (3) participating in hiring decisions.

Here are the links to the August and the September Quickbooks exports, showing how much donation cash has been used to pay for contracts that should have been paid through the city:

I hope to hear back from you in the next couple of days,

Best regards
Jutta
